South African tennis sensations Isabella Kruger (17) and Khololwam Montsi (20) will compete in the Africa Cares Women’s Tennis Challenge on December 3rd and 4th, 2022, at Johannesburg’s DP World Wanderers Stadium.

During the two-day tennis tournament, both international and local tennis sensations will showcase their skills on South African soil for a good cause. Kruger and Montsi will be joined by Dustin Brown and Ons Jabeur, to name a few.

Isabella Kruger expressed gratitude for her participation in the tournament advocating for change during the 16-day activism period.

“As a young woman born and raised in South Africa, issues such as gender-based violence are close to my heart considering the devastating statistics we are exposed to, it is an honour to be a part of this campaign by both showcasing a sport that I love and using it as a vehicle to drive change”- said Isabella Kruger

Isabella Kruger, the daughter of former Springboks legend Reuben Kruger, has had her fair share of international exposure as she battled past Poland’s former World no. 29 Urszula Radwanska to secure her spot in the second round of the Tuks International ITF World Tennis Tour W60 tournament.

Kruger also faced Russian sixth seed Anastasia Tikhonova, who defeated France’s Alice Robbe.

Montsi, a 17-year-old South African tennis player who was part of the French Open Junior Tennis Champions, will be doubling up with German-Jamaican professional tennis player Dustin Brown, who rose to prominence after defeating Rafael Nadal in the 2014 Halle Open. In support of women’s tennis, the two will demonstrate their speed, technique, and entertaining playing style.

Martina Hingis, a multi-grand slam winner from Switzerland, and Sloane Stephens, an American Tennis Professional who has five singles titles to her name, including her first Major at the 2017 US Open, will also be on the line-up. The 29-year-old tennis pro is also the founder of the Sloane Stephens Foundation, which aims to improve the quality of life for youth by using tennis as a foundation.
