Following Wednesday’s statement by the Department of Basic Education, regarding the suspension of contact sports in schools, Tennis SA has, based on discussions with key stakeholders, taken the precautionary measure to recommend the suspension of all inter-school (school versus school) tennis events until further notice.

While we know this is disappointing, we hope you understand this is a necessary step in these unprecedented times.

As such, all BNP Paribas RCS Rising Star Tennis provincial events, scheduled to take place over the next two weeks, will be postponed and new dates will be communicated in due course.

Tennis coaching and training can, however, continue within schools. This is provided that all social distancing, hygiene, and safety measures are observed and that individual schools are comfortable to do so.

Please note that all TSA junior ranking tournaments remain unaffected by these developments and will proceed as planned, provided strict COVID-19 protocols are observed.
