2021 Coaches License Registration Info

Tennis SA would like to say a BIG thank you to all our licensed coaches for their payments and commitment during the incredibly challenging COVID-19 cycle of the 2020 licensing year!

Please read all the information to the end so you are aware of all requirements and instructions for licensing. It is also important to read the attachments pertaining to the Code of Ethics and Coaches policy below.

Our 2021 registrations will be taking place on the Sporty HQ platform. There have also been adjustments made to the coaching fee structure.

Requirements for the 2021 Licensing cycle will be as follows:

Valid First Aid Level 1 certificate;
Valid Police Clearance (no new clearance needed for 2021);
Online Registration on Sporty HQ;
Active Team App profile;
License fee payment (payment on Sporty);
Minimum of 10 CPD points over a 1 year cycle;
COVID-19 license.

NB: – you will be able to register with a previously obtained police clearance certificate. First time registrants will be required to upload a police clearance certificate not older than six months. Attached is a list of HURU services offered through certain Jetlines that can be contacted to obtain a clearance within a 48 hour turnaround time. The discount code to be used is TENNIS-SA.

Kindly follow these instructions to complete your registration. It will be important that you have created a Sporty profile in order to proceed.

Click on the following link to access the 2021 coach’s registration event. If you wish to sign up using your smartphone this can then be done by going into Team App and selecting the register tab:

1. Click on event sign up. You will need to select the full membership fee of R330 to proceed.
The following provinces have migrated over to the Sporty platform and district and provincial fees will need to be paid over to them via Sporty:

Free State
Gauteng
KZN
Northern Cape
Western Cape

Coaches in Eastern Cape, Limpopo, Mpumalanga and North West provinces will need to contact your province directly to make provincial and district payments.

2. Complete all user details under the 1st section and continue. Fill in all required information under the 2nd additional options page. Here it will be compulsory to upload your first aid and police clearance certificate.

3. Under the 3rd event options page please ensure to select either play tennis trainer of full license fee.

4. Agree to the terms and conditions, proceed to payment and your registration will be complete.

It will not be necessary to complete another covid license application form unless you have:

Never applied for one previously;
Need a venue added;
Need a venue removed.

Once your registration is in order then your covid license will be issued. It is also important to note that you will still be expected to abide by the lockdown regulations of submitting monthly registers, daily screening, proper sanitization, etc. This will remain compulsory until lockdown has been lifted altogether.

Coaches will be required to meet their Continuous Professional Development (CPD) points in the following manner:

Period to achieve the following requirement – one registration year (1 April-31 March).
Min 5 Formal points per registration year – allocated for attending a Provincial CPD Workshop/National Coaches Conference/ITF Regional Coaches Conference/ITF Worldwide Coaches Conference.
Min 5 Informal points per registration year – ITF Academy Online Courses/Sport Relevant Courses.
Please note: No points will be allocated for First Aid or Police Clearance.
